Before and after pics!

Hello ladies I hope all is well! So lately I have felt a little discouraged in my exercise routine. I love love love pure barre but is it enough? I don't know if I am just being silly or what but I feel like I am supposed to be doing more. So my question is what pushes you to keep up with your workout routine?
What inspires me to keep working out are my dreaded before and after pictures. The first pic was taken in December of last year after my first semester at school and the second was taken in June when I went to Australia with my brother this past summer. I know it doesn't look like a lot but I did lose a few pounds. These pics definitely inspire me to keep doing what I have to in order to be healthy.

  1. Sammy you can tell that you lost a few pounds from one pic to the next pic. And you will continue to lose!!! It is so easy to get discouraged but preserverance and consistancy is the key. Just remember that you didn't gain it all over night and you won't lose it over night. Keep on truckin' girl. You are very beautiful evn with some extra pounds.

I should put some pictures up too. hmmm.

  2. oh ya what pushes me is that both my parents are overweight and my dad had a major heart attack at 52, he made it thankfully but I don't want that fate and only I can change it. Also, the thought of all the things I can do and wear next summer...like swimming in a suit not shorts and a tee, hiking Mt Elenor with out feeling like I am going to keel over. And finally, every year at my violation (papsmear)exam my doctor tells me that I am overweight. It is in May and I want to show her how far I've come since last May.

  3. Thanks Molly! It means a lot!
I am so happy to hear that your father is healthy! My family has a long history of illnesses and I do not want that for myself! We are ready turning into health nuts haha.

Clothes are definitely a plus in the weight lose. Maybe I will post a pic of some inspirational clothing? hahahaha I have actually never worn a bikini in my life so I think that would be a big deal for me!

You will be rocking it by May Molly. Your Doc will be speechless as well as the hubby :) haha

I say everyone post pics! Trust me when you see it on a public website it's a whole other story! It's tough but it inspires you. Keep it up ladies we are doing great. Think of the positives and think how good you will look in a couple more months. Remember Halloween!! I expect to see pics of all of us in our best Halloween costumes haha

  4. Sammy,

I love the pics! That's a great way to see your progress. I think that if your classes (Barre) don't feel like you're doing enough but you're still feeling it, then perhaps your questions are referring to the other end of this journey....aka the dreaded eating. How's that part been? Are you able to make healthy but satisfying choices at the cafeteria?
I know when I was shredding, I was getting frustrated because I wasn't losing, I was gaining - but it was muscle. Even knowing this I felt discouraged. I stopped doing it all together and then was just walking. Maybe mixing things up would work?

What inspires me right now is nothing. Okay, I've said it and it's out there. I am not in a very positive state of mind right now but aim to make this weekend one that rejuvenates me and gets my priorities back in order! I'll post more in a bit!
